Thanksgiving '08

Our first Thanksgiving together was absolutely wonderful! We couldn't have asked for a more memorable experience or a better family to spend it with. Fortunately, we rolled into town before hitting any traffic. We spent the weekend with Tyler and his family, as well as Whitney and his family. Mom and Dad were greats hosts, as always. The best part of our visit was having a two-day family slumber party! It was great not having to go our separate ways after Thanksgiving night because the party just carried over to the next day. We had so much fun playing board games together. On Thanksgiving morning, we shot rifles in the country and rode the quad. Eventually, the Cobra Chai showed up on their quads as well, so Kyle went to go battle and show them his moves. After eating a fabulous Thanksgiving meal with Kyle's parents, we got ready to make some more room in our bellies to eat another Thanksgiving dinner with Melanie's family. We had a great time seeing everyone, especially the kids...they've all grown up so quick! The rest of our weekend was pleasant and carefree. Melanie and the girls shopped for a bit and drove around town, while Kyle and the boys played sports with their friends. We are very eager to return home for Christmas and to spend more time at home with our families.

Remember on The Karate Kid, when Daniel is playing soccer on the beach with his new friends...once he gets the courage to talk with Ali, the Cobra Kai gang come driving in on their dirt bikes and ruin the party and pick on poor Daniel. That's what happened to us, except that the gang of guys on the quads didn't bother us. They just came whizzing around the corner and it reminded me of that part in the movie. :p

Your pictures look great. I'm glad that you both had such a good time for Thanksgiving.
